History

Aiming at expanding and developing research and presenting solutions for major mental and behavioral issues, the psychology and behavioral sciences research center started its activities by receiving its temporary permit on January 12, 2005 and then its permit on April 26, 2008 from the ministry of health and medical education. This center is an affiliate of the deputy of research and technology in Mazandaran university of medical science, and is located in Zareh Psychiatry and Burn hospital. We have been publishing an English quarterly journal which is published on the following websites: ISI،Scopus، Embase، Index Copernicus، EMRO،Cite Factor، DRJI، SJR، Scientific world Index، ISC، SID، Barakatkns، Mag Iran، Google Scholar، RICeST، COPE

The center is determined to carry out its research projects utilizing its research facilities, namely a site, a cohort laboratory, and also the center for youth cohort studies.

 

Vision

The center is ambitious to become one of the most credible research centers in neurological and mental disorders, behavioral science and its relevant disorders. We will take more effective steps in pursue of providing health for humans - while observing the moral and religious standards and principles in Islamic Iran – by utilizing the knowledge of our academic staff and researches in basic sciences, neurology and psychiatry, also by implementing modern technology and advanced international standards. The followings are the future goals of the center:

1. Observing humane, ethical and professional principles in research
2. Focusing on conducting practical results in researches
3. Producing knowledge
4. Providing high quality services
5. Achieving best results and performance at minimum cost
6. Supporting and insisting on teamwork
7. Supporting joint research projects with other centers and organizations

 

Mission

 

1. Realizing the current status of neurological and mental disorders across the province and country
2. Identifying and preventing from effective factors of neurological and mental disorders
3. Discovering pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for neurological and mental disorders and other relevant behavioral disorders
4. Properly informing other medical specialties of the nature of neurological and mental disorders and their relevant behavioral disorders, and also their effective treatments and preventive measures
5. Reducing the cost of care and rehabilitation

 

Goals

 

G1) developing studies and knowledge  in psychology and behavioral sciences and their relevant disorders

G2) improving the state of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of neurological and mental disorders and their relevant behavioral disorders

G3) developing modern diagnosis technologies, psychiatric treatment and behavioral sciences the their relevant disorders

 

Research Ethics

 

1. Health and safety of each and every subject being studied in the process of and after conducting research on human subjects is prior to anything else. Every study carried out on human subject needs to be done by people who possess the necessary and relevant clinical specialties and skills. The supervision of a medical doctor with proper knowledge and skills is obligatory for doing clinical experiments on patients or healthy volunteers.
2. The primary goal of every research should be improving human’s health while fully observing their rights and dignity
3. Every research must be carried out in accordance to a proposal
4. In clinical studies, the instruction must include all organizational affiliations, cases of potential benefit conflicts, motivations of participants in treatment, compensation for people damaged during the research process, in addition to the proposal. An informed consent must be received if needed. The written consent form must be attached to the proposal. The research cannot get started before the proposal is confirmed or approved in the independent committee of ethics in research
