Laboratories
1- Central research laboratory has been established in school of medicine to serve the academic staff, researchers and students from both university and abroad in basic and applied biochemical research. Sections in this laboratory are cellular and molecular biology for elucidating the basic pathways of human in normal and disease status. This laboratory is equipped with different research tools including immunofluorescence invert microscopy, electroporation system for molecular cloning, PCR and real-time qPCR instruments, electrophoresis and gel document system as well as cell culture room. This laboratory aims at taking the advantage of the faculty's potential to be a leading, creative and authentic center in performing the basic and applied research in terms of molecular and cellular research in biomedical field.
2- Research Laboratory of Embryology and Stem cells has been established in Department of Anatomical Sciences and research in this laboratory is focused on neuroembryology, nerve regeneration, spinal cord injury as well as the cancer stem cell biology. By using different cellular and molecular techniques, the researchers work on different types of stem cells including hair follicle-derived stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, neural stem cells and other stem cell lines to direct their differentiation into neural cells. Some of post-graduate students also work on chicken and mouse embryos to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms involving in neurogenesis. The pharmaceutical students and academic staffs are also interested to work on drug resistance in different types of cancer stem cells. This laboratory contains the cell culture room that is equipped with CO 2 incubator, biological hoods, invert and stereo microscopy.
