School of Health responsible for accepting and training health sciences students at different levels of public health (BS students) and (graduate education). Nutrition (BA), Environmental Health Engineering (BSc continuous and discontinuous) and (MS) to provide health manpower requirements of the country in administrative levels, as well as management training and applied scientific research in order to solve the problems of the health system.
History
School of Health and Nutritional Sciences (SHNS) is one of the faculties under the auspices of Yasuj University of Medical Sciences (YUMS). It has been almost 27 years since the beginning of the activity of the SHNS-YUMS, as a high education center. It has been established in 1993, and student admission for the associate degree of Environmental Health, Family Health, Operating Room and Anesthesia, were approved. The students were studied in Faculty of Medicine and School of Para-medicine. In 1995, School of Health was established with four departments: Environmental Health, Biostatics and Epidemiology, Public Health, and Nutritional Sciences, and two years later, students were admitted for the associate degree of Diseases Control. In 2006, student admission for the Bachelor degree (B.Sc.) of Environmental Health, Public Health, and Nutritional Sciences, was started and this was a turning point for School of Health. Student admission for Master degree (M.Sc.) of Health Education and Promotion, and Environmental Health Engineering, was started in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Currently, more than 350 200 students are studying in four majors in B.Sc. degree (Public Health, Nutritional Sciences, Environmental Health Engineering, Food Science and Technology), and in two majors in M.Sc. degrees (Health Education & Promotion, Environmental Health Engineering).
