This center managed to obtain an agreement in principle for its establishment and official activity on 2013-05-13.

This is achieved provided that the center can act as a member of a coordinated and interactive group with the capacity and ability to convert research priorities into actual clinical and basic research. The result will be quality health services to improve the health care system of the province and the country.

Mission: To provide the necessary facilities and platforms for conducting basic and clinical medical research in the field of ophthalmology, with the aim of promoting health and treatment of eye diseases, expanding knowledge frontiers, and localizing modern technologies.
