On 2012-01-12, this center managed to receive an agreement in principle for its establishment, and on 2016-12-15, it received a final agreement.
Vision: Achieving future success in research on liver and gastrointestinal diseases and the related fields requires the establishment and development of links with other national and international research centers and networks. To this aim, the Alimentary Tract Research Center needs to act as a member of a coordinated and interactive group with the capacity and ability to convert research priorities into basic and clinical research, which will lead to quality health services to improve the health care system of the province and finally the whole country.

Mission: To provide the necessary facilities and platforms for basic and clinical medical research in the field of liver and gastrointestinal diseases, in order to promote health, expand the frontiers of knowledge, and localize modern technologies.
