In 2009-07-25, this center managed to obtain an agreement in principle for its establishment and official activity, and in 2011-11-01, it obtained a final agreement.

Mission: Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences is one of the oldest universities in the world and one of the highly ranked universities in the country.
In order to use cutting-edge nanotechnology to promote health and help meet the needs of society, especially in the field of medicine, treatment, and economics, the Nanotechnology Research Center is responsible for the following missions:
- Encouraging and coordinating community and university researchers for active scientific participation in the implementation of new research projects in the field of nanotechnology and related fields
- Attracting and using actual and potential research talents as well as retired faculty members with research potential, as well as organizing nanotechnology research and related research fields
- Cooperation and communication with other educational-research centers in the country that operate in the field of nanotechnology education and research
- Scientific cooperation and communication with other nanotechnology educational and research centers of other countries and international organizations accepted by the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran within the framework of the laws and regulations of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
