Cancer Research Center of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences was established in June 2012 on the site of the old building of the School of Medicine. As the main center and bedrock of cancer-related research activities in basic and clinical fields in Khuzestan province, this center seriously pursues its research programs to promote health, disease prevention, and public awareness and to support medical researchers to take advantage of new technologies and conduct cancer research. Establishing collaboration with other national and international research centers and networks, and creating a suitable platform for holding seminars and congresses are among the main missions of this center. The basic division of this center is located in its laboratory unit on the ground floor of the old building of the School of Medicine, and the clinical division is located on the fourth floor of Imam Khomeini Hospital of Ahvaz.
Along with its research and development programs, the Cancer Research Center aspires to be one of the most reputable and active centers in the field of cancer research in the country and in the region such that the information, statistics and cases reported from this province are frequently cited by other domestic and foreign centers. It is hoped that no one will have to wrestle with cancer due to lack of awareness.
