School of Hospital Sciences was established by gathering departments of Laboratory sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Radiology in 1972. Later, its name changed to Medical technology and then Paramedical Sciences. In 1974, 1976, 1977, and 1984, Nutrition, Health, Medical Engineering, Anesthesiology, and Physiotherapy departments were added to the school, respectively. In the 80s and 90s, departments of the Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Health were separated from the School of Paramedical Sciences and accordingly, Pharmacy and Health schools were separately established. The name of school was changed to the “School of Allied Medical Sciences” in 2019.
